Teaching and Technology

We employ a host of innovative learning tools and teaching methods that redefine how business is studied and how insights are shared. Your program will use online classes, multimedia simulations, case study discussions, and interactive workshops. Learning comes from opportunities to experience what real business situations are like, not from a textbook.

Classes keep pace with business and connect theory to practice. The result is a dynamic curriculum with a heavy emphasis on state-of-the-art practice integrating learning across disciplines.

The programs aim to enable students to earn a high-level specialist qualifications, acquiring a skill set and expertise that benefit them in any business environment. TAG-UCB teaching and learning methodology shall be set in line with and serve the programs’ strategic objectives. These methods will be clearly communicated to the academic professors and announced to enrolled students.

The variety of topics presented in each course allows for using a blended learning mixture tailored to the nature and requirements of the taught material. In addition to the delivery of lectures, other methods used to encourage communication and collaborative learning with scheduled class time are as follows:

- Group work, simulations and tutorials supported by team and individual study. The individual work allows students to experience and develop their ability of displaying communication and presentation skills within the framework of the topic presented. It further measures the individual’s understanding and interpretation of the concepts of concern. On the other hand, the team work encourages students to participate, initiate and maintain communication channels. Effective interaction among the students will also be utilized along with collaborative work that aims to submit one sole representative work on behalf of the joining group.

- Problem Solving. The program aims at building a solid practical base complementing the literature taught in the courses. This is achieved by assigning projects derived from organizations present in the market. These projects acquire real data and incorporate different problems and dilemmas that need analysis and decision making. Such work improves the student’s ability to understand and practice analytical thinking.

 - A course management system shall be applied in several courses by both students and professors. This sort of system facilitates interaction and puts in use a set of shared folders freely accessed by students that includes the course syllabus, material, assignments, presentations, review questions and other material as appropriate.

- Business Forum. TAG-UCB holds a forum inviting prominent guest speakers in their field of specialty to present lecture on business and other topics that are of current special concern both nationally and globally. These lectures, offering new insights and analyses by the participating guest speakers, are directed towards students and interested society members.

- Teaching and learning materials, The learning materials made available to students are chosen in compliance with the material requisites and intended topics to be covered. The selection of textbooks is done through councils and faculty members, where the members meet to discuss the choices and alternatives with regard to course critical topics, the way the material is presented and its suitability for students' understanding.

TAG-UCB urges all of its faculty to use technology in teaching using an eLearning Platform for course management and online interaction with students. Our platform provides a secure framework to support teaching, with tools that include:
